“The character made it easy for my daughter to open up. It helped us through her grandfather’s death. After a few sessions she was herself again — and loved every meeting.”

Elmira Mamedova, pediatrician
I’m a pediatrician and have worked with the Imcy team for a long time—with real pleasure. Their unique approach through a character is especially valued by parents of preschoolers. It helps connect with very young patients even online. Thank you for your work!

What kind of session should I choose?
We recommend starting with an intro session and then moving on to at least one package of weekly sessions. After that, children benefit most from continuous support in the form of one monthly session. Group sessions are available at any stage of your journey with Imcy.
Can we trade the 20-minute parent consultation for more time in the child’s video session?
Absolutely — though we don’t recommend it during the weekly session package, since that format often involves new skills for parents to learn as well.
At what age can a child start working with an imaginary coach?
Generally, imaginary coaches work with children ages four and up.
Up to what age are sessions with an imaginary coach suitable?
This particular format generally works best for children up to about seven to ten years old. Emotion coaches on Imcy also work with teenagers — in that case, without avatars.
Will the child see what their actual coach looks like during the session?
Only if the child asks their coach to reveal their real appearance.
Can we change our child’s coach in the process?
You can change coaches at any time if you or your child wishes. The avatar your child has chosen can stay the same.
How do I start?
We recommend starting with an intro session — you’ll find more about it under Services and Pricing. You’re also welcome to send us a request form, and our customer service representative will contact you as soon as possible.
What happens if my child doesn’t want to continue their sessions?
If your child no longer wants to continue, we have several options. We can give your child a break, change their coach’s avatar, or change their coach altogether. We can also stop the sessions and refund you for any you haven’t used.
How is coaching different from therapy?
Coaches working with Imcy do not diagnose or treat disorders. Some of our coaches may also be CBT therapists, but in every interaction with you or your child, imaginary coaches work strictly as coaches, following coaching protocols.
Are sessions with an imaginary coach safe?
Yes. Coaching sessions with an imaginary coach are safe. Coaches at Imcy go through a strict verification process and always act in your child’s best interest. Neither Imcy nor its partnering coaches share or sell your information to third parties, and both keep your information safe and confidential.
Will my child be upset when it’s time to part with their imaginary coach?
Most of the time, children don’t get upset about ending their sessions with their imaginary coach. Throughout their time together, they receive a great deal of validation and reassurance that their coach is available whenever they feel the need to reconnect. By the time sessions come to a close, most children feel a genuine sense of readiness to pause or move on, and that readiness is exactly why the parting feels natural rather than painful.
What if my child shows signs of anxiety, depression, or another serious condition?
Imcy coaching supports emotional growth, but it is not therapy and doesn’t replace care from a licensed mental health professional. If your coach notices signs that your child may need clinical support, they will let you know promptly and help you find a qualified specialist, such as a child psychologist or therapist, through our referral network.
If you’re already concerned about your child’s mental health, we encourage you to talk with your pediatrician or a licensed professional first. Coaching can work well alongside professional care.
Are you a coach who would like to partner with Imcy?
Imcy empowers emotion coaches and makes their practice even more effective and rewarding, offering innovative representation and tools for a magical, genuine coaching experience with their little clients.
We give our partners all the support and resources they need to be their authentic professional selves and unlock their full potential.
